ABLE MENTORS
Able Mentors is the mentoring division of Honorable and Impressionable LLC which is primarily focused on the growth and developmental aspect of the whole individual and not only just the academic and scholastic aptitude of the student. The emotional, mental, social and professional aspect of children are often a secondary notion and concern because academic achievement is the main focus of student learning in education today. We understand that growth and learning is paved with many roads and providing an individual with advisors, mentors , independent child-study teams, educators, resources and support in a structured, comfortable environment can greatly help foster and develop the student/child dynamic into fully functional honorable and impressionable men and women, willing and able to reach their absolute full potential. The main goal for education is intended to produce a better overall student but the main goal for mentoring is intended to produce a better overall person. Our educators, tutorials and programs are intended to shape each student and child into the most "Honorable and Impressionable" individual that their families, school and themselves can be proud of and highly respect. This is what we mean by "putting honor back into the able". Mentoring and Mentorship! What is the difference? First, Mentoring may be formal or informal and serve a variety of objectives. Formal mentoring programs are value-oriented, while social mentoring and other types focus specifically on career development for example. There are 3 levels of mentoring: Downward, Peer level and upward. Mentorship usually requires "unequal knowledge" between an adept and an apprentice during a period of time during which a personal relationship is formed. In structured , formal mentoring programs there are program goals, schedules, trainings and evaluation which often are defined as a professional relationship in which an experienced person assists an less experienced person in developing specific skills, information and knowledge that will enhance the less experienced person's professional, career and personal growth. Again, mentoring is a process that always involves communication, commitment and concern and is relationship-based between at least two people to impart knowledge and specific skills to assist with a person's professional and personal growth. |
