The aforementioned quotes have been used to described these African-American men who have made it to the pinnacles of their careers and the industries they made their names in but more needs to be examined to truly know what and who belongs in the Boule'. In this page we will look at Sigma Pi Phi through the lens of objectivity to see if the fraternity has been working for the benefit of African-Americans in the United States over the last 100 years.
One of the Founders, Henry Minton, once commented that "new members should not be selected on the basis of brains alone, but in addition to congeniality, culture, and ood fellowship, they should have behind thema record of accomplishements, not merely be men of promise and good education." Moreover, Sigma Phi Pi would contain "the best of Skull and Bones of Yale and of Phi Beta Kappa."
Of the 545 individuals who held the positions of Secretaries in government administrations 21 or 4% were African-Americans. Sigma Pi Phi hosted a gala in Washington D.C. to honor all of those African-Americans who served as White House Cabinet Secretaries. The Undefeated wrote an article highlighting the gala and each honory on July 6, 2016.
