H & I Tennis and Fitness Academy
Tennis is a wonderful sport to learn, participate and stay active everyday especially in the warm months of Spring, Summer and Fall! Most cities, towns, boroughs and communities provide free tennis courts in parks and play areas for public use so you don't have to pay for access to courts.. Private indoor tennis courts and tennis associations are available too but at a cost so there are options. Tennis is a rather inexpense sport to play and engage in; however, all that is needed to participate are sneakers, tennis ball or two and a tennis racket. If your park provides a tennis wall then you can practice against the wall at your leisure and play against yourself. However, If you have an able partner then you are ready for some game action and a nice workout. The rules are simple and easy to learn and keeping score is also easy to learn. Scoring a tennis game goes as follows: First, the games are scored starting with both players starting at "love" or zero then whoever wins the first point starts at 15, the second point won is at 30, third point is 40 and whoever gets the fourth point wins the game. However, if both players score 40 at the same time then scoring goes as follows: Both players have 40 which is called "deuce", the next player to score a point has the "advantage" and if the same player scores again then that is the end of the game and that player wins the first set of the match. Repeat the process for however many sets you would like to play. Usually a tennis match is made up of 2 or 3 sets but can go up to 6 sets in a match. To win a set, you must win at least six games. *Remember to stretch for about 10 minutes before you start to play and bring water before, during and after to stay hydrated and prevent injury. The game of tennis is a great way to work out, burn off calories and stay fit, have fun, engage in competitive sports play with a friend or to gain or sharpen ones tennis skills. Honorable and Impressionable encourages everyone to learn more about the ins and outs of the wonderful game of tennis by participating in our tennis and fitness programs.
